Latcham Vineyards
The Latcham family planted Latcham Vineyards in 1981. Located in California's Sierra Foothills, Latcham Vineyards lies on the north slope of a small, beautiful valley in the heart of the El Dorado gold country near the historic town of Fair Play, California. We chose this romantic and colorful site for its beauty, the fine quality of the soil, and excellent growing conditions. The wisdom of this choice has been proven repeatedly by the deeply flavorful grapes produced on this 28-acre vineyard. Latcham Vineyards has become well known for rich, flavorful wines that have won hundreds of medals in numerous wine competitions. The Latcham family credits the success of their wines to the unique growing conditions of the Fair Play where the warm days and cool nights produce grapes with an intensity of flavor not found in other growing areas. The vineyard produces estate grown Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Petite Sirah.
Granite Springs Winery
Granite Springs Winery was purchased by the Latcham Family in 1994 after producing the Latcham Vineyard label for many years. The vineyard at Granite Springs was planted in 1980 by the original owner Les Russell, and is characterized by well drained granitic soils and a climate of warm, sunny days and cool nights. Located in the heart of the Fair Play Wine Appellation, Granite Springs has developed a reputation of producing full bodied and sophisticated varietals. The vineyard at Granite Springs produces estate grown Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
