Two Wineries...
The Latcham family started Latcham Vineyards as a vineyard in 1981. Located in California's Sierra Foothills, Latcham Vineyards lies on the north slope of a small, beautiful valley in the heart of the El Dorado Gold Country near the historic town of Fair Play, California. They chose this romantic and colorful site for its beauty, the fine quality of the soil, and excellent growing conditions. The wisdom of this choice has been proven repeatedly by the deeply flavorful grapes produced on this 28-acre vineyard. Latcham Vineyards has become well known for rich, flavorful wines such as Zinfandel, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Port. These wines have won hundreds of medals in numerous wine competitions, including Double Golds, Best of Region and Best of State medals as well as much critical acclaim. The Latcham family credits the success of their wines to the unique growing conditions, or mountain terroir, of the Fair Play viticultural area of southern El Dorado County. The warm days and cool nights produce grapes with an intensity of flavor not found in other growing areas.
Granite Springs is noted for it's old vine Zinfandel, dark rich Petite Sirah, intense Estate Petite Sirah Port and delicate Sauvignon Blanc. Granite Springs also lies in the midst of an old and rich wine-producing region. Our grapes are grown in a unique mountain terrian with deep, well drained granitic soils and a climate of warm, sunny days and cool nights. The Latcham family believes that our Granite Springs wines get their characteristic depth and flavor from a combination of our mountain-grown grapes and high standards of wine making. Granite Springs was purchased by the Latcham Family purchased from Les Russell in 1994.
Both wineries were established in 1981 and are part of the flourishing Fair Play Wine Appellation.

We strive to emphasize the favorable characteristics unique to the Fair Play wine country while maintaining affordable prices. Modern technology and traditional methods of winemaking are carefully integrated to produce consistently distinctive wines. Garnering hundreds of medals in nationwide competitions, our wines are distributed throughout Northern Californa and in various states.
